53. Philadelphia Eagles (via Baltimore Ravens): David Montgomery, RB, Iowa State

A wise move was made by the Philadelphia Eagles as they moved from No. 25 to 22 and it only cost them a 2019 fourth-round pick as well as a 2019 sixth-round pick to do so. They then landed one of the best pass protectors in the game in Andre Dillard, who will eventually take over for veteran Jason Peters.

Back on the clock at 53 with a pick obtained from the Ravens, Philly grabs a running back in David Montgomery. There were rumors that they wanted in on the Le’Veon Bell sweepstakes but the price was too high. Montgomery isn’t comparable, but he can be a starter for them.

54. Houston Texans (via Seattle Seahawks): Rock Ya-Sin, CB, Temple

The Houston Texans are lucky to have back-to-back picks here because they can make up for a pick that seemed to get some rough reviews as they took Tytus Howard at No. 23. Our own Cody Williams graded this one an F and said they ended up with a project player.

"The Houston Texans need immediate help on the offensive line to protect Deshaun Watson. So, naturally, they took a project tackle in Tytus Howard. This is an incredibly baffling selection by the Texans at this spot. Take Howard in Round 3 as a project, but to not take a Day 1 offensive line contributor with No. 23 is a disservice to their star quarterback."

They make up for that here as they get a cornerback who was garnering first-round attention late in the draft process in Rock Ya-Sin.
