57. Philadelphia Eagles: Justin Layne, CB, Michigan State

Back on the clock at No. 57 with their own pick, the Eagles add their second pick in this round by taking Justin Layne out of Michigan State. Last season, the Eagles saw a promising season start to fall apart thanks to struggles in the secondary. They were able to get things together and make it to the postseason still, but in order to take the next step, they need to slow opposing receivers down. Layne offers a physical corner with great length that can frustrate wideouts.

58. Dallas Cowboys: Juan Thornhill, S, Virginia

Amari Cooper was technically the Dallas Cowboys first round pick. They made a deal with the Oakland Raiders to pick up Cooper and he turned their entire team around. Now on the clock at 58, the Cowboys are still able to land an impact player as Juan Thornhill of the Virginia Cavaliers is still on the board.

They did add George Iloka in free agency but he’s on a one-year deal and struggled last season in Minnesota. As for Thornhill, he’s able to play either safety position, which is something the coaches love. Even more important, he’s an absolute ball hawk — which is the one thing this Dallas defense is missing.
