2019 NFL Draft: Day 2 mock draft after completing first round
By Randy Gurzi
61. Kansas City Chiefs: Chauncey Gardner-Johnson, S, Florida
Adding Tyrann Mathieu was a big move for the Kansas City Chiefs and he will help the defense improve in 2019, which is something they need desperately. MVP Patrick Mahomes never even saw the field in overtime during the AFC Championship Game, which was the Chiefs fault, even if people want to blame the league.
Football is a team sport and they simply couldn’t make a stop. Mathieu will help, but so too will Chauncey Gardner-Johnson who lands with them here. Gardner-Johnson can play either safety spot and has shown the ability to shine in deep coverage as well as in the box.
62. New Orleans Saints: Andy Isabella, WR, UMass
The New Orleans Saints don’t have a. first round pick as they traded up for Marcus Davenport in the last draft. Even with them having to sit patiently and watch they land a game changer at No. 62.
Andy Isabella was on fire in 2018, racking up 1,698 yards and 13 touchdowns. He may be undersized, but his 4.31 time in the 40-yard dash proves that he needs to be accounted for at all times. New Orleans has several talented players to spread the ball around too, but Isabella gives them a home run threat that could open things up even more.
