2019 NFL Draft: Day 2 mock draft after completing first round
By Randy Gurzi
77. Carolina Panthers: Anthony Johnson, WR, Buffalo
Losing Devin Funchess will hurt, but it was understandable why the Panthers let him walk. They look for a replacement here in Anthony Johnson from Buffalo, who excelled at his smaller school. Johnson has an outside shot of developing into a No. 1 receiver, but at worst, he could be a good option opposite D.J. Moore who was their first-round pick in 2018.
78. Miami Dolphins: Oshane Ximines, EDGE, Old Dominion
Trading Robert Quinn to Dallas opened a huge hole on the Dolphins defensive line. They hope 2017 first-round pick Charles Harris can step up, but they get someone to help out if that’s not the case. Oshane Ximines needs to improve as a run defender, but he can get after the quarterback and is very eager to be great.
79. Los Angeles Rams (via Atlanta Falcons): Germaine Pratt, ILB, N.C. State
Germaine Pratt is one of those players who flies all over the field and does a little bit of everything. Defensive coordinator Wade Phillips is going to love him and he offers something they need — a presence in the middle of their 3-4.
80. Cleveland Browns: Isaiah Johnson Jr., CB, Houston
With their second pick in the draft, the Browns land another potential starter. Isaiah Johnson is a former wide receiver who has ideal size. He may need some more time at the position to become the player he wants to be, but he has starting potential and is a great value at this spot.
