43. Detroit Lions: Parris Campbell, WR, Ohio State

There were rumors that the Detroit Lions were after Rob Gronkowski last season when Matt Patricia took the head coaching job, but that never happened. Still in need of a complete tight end, Patricia got his guy in T.J. Hockenson out of Iowa on Thursday night. They need more pass catchers though, which leads to the selection of Parris Campbell from Ohio State.

A converted running back, Campbell is still learning the position but had a breakout campaign in 2018. His addition helps alleviate the loss of Golden Tate, who they traded at the deadline this past season.

44. Green Bay Packers: Deebo Samuel, WR, South Carolina

With their first of two picks in the first round, the Green Bay Packers landed a physical specimen in Rahsan Gary. Talent and athleticism have never been the question for the Michigan defensive lineman, but he hasn’t put it all together and had the results that his skill set suggests.

From there, Green Bay added a safety in Darnell Savage. With this pick, they finally address the offensive side of the ball and land a steal in Deebo Samuel. This kid can run routes with the best of them and has been limited by quarterback play thus far. That won’t be the case in Green Bay.
