30 greatest NFL team rivalries of all-time

17. New York Giants vs. Dallas Cowboys
Here’s a fun fact, the first ever meeting between the Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants resulted in a 31-31 tie back in 1960.
Since then, the Cowboys and Giants have provided football fans with plenty of amazing memories, whether it was the famous one-handed catch by Odell Beckham Jr. as a rookie in 2014 or the Giants upsetting the Cowboys in the 2007 playoffs.
As New York fans remember well, that was the year in which Eli Manning won his first Super Bowl. The Giants shocked the previously undefeated New England Patriots, leaving Dallas fans wondering what could have been since they had originally been the No. 1 seed.
Even though the Giants and Cowboys didn’t kick things off to start the 2018 season like previous years, the NFL decided to schedule these two rivals for Week 1. Hopefully, this can be a competitive game, instead of a blowout by Dallas.
With all due respect to New York, the Cowboys are defending NFC East champions for a reason. With Beckham no longer part of the picture, the Giants will need all the extra help possible on offense to make this rivalry exciting to watch in 2019.
