The Miami Dolphins need to make Josh Rosen their starter for the 2019 season instead of Ryan Fitzpatrick.

After months of speculation, the Arizona Cardinals finally pulled the trigger by trading Josh Rosen to the Miami Dolphins to pave the way for Kyler Murray, who was selected No. 1 in the 2019 NFL Draft, under center moving forward.

In a way, the argument can be made that Rosen received the raw end of the deal since he was placed in an unfair situation last season in Arizona since the original plan was supposed to consist of spending the year behind Sam Bradford.

But at least now that Rosen has a fresh start in Miami, the former first-round pick can leave what happened in 2018 behind him, and focus on what has the potential to be a promising career with the Dolphins.

Football fans can say whatever they want about Rosen after seeing how this thing played out, but what took place with the Cardinals last season wasn’t entirely his fault.

If anything, Arizona deserves a majority of the blame for failing to put Rosen in the best position possible to succeed, but at least both parties can agree that moving on was the best decision.

Now, all eyes will be on Rosen to see if the UCLA product does in fact have what it takes to be a starter in the NFL, although there’s no guarantee at the moment the job is his since Miami has made it clear that he will have to compete with Ryan Fitzpatrick for 2019.

Still, as tempting as it would be to take the safe approach by going with an experienced veteran like Fitzpatrick, here are three reasons why the Dolphins need to just allow Rosen to start right away during the 2019 season instead of delaying the process.
