Here are three reasons the New York Giants should consider starting Daniel Jones in 2019 over Eli Manning.
For years, football fans have been waiting to see when the New York Giants would finally find the successor to Eli Manning since the two-time Super Bowl MVP wasn’t getting any younger. After the 2019 NFL Draft, it looks like the Giants finally have a potential answer in Duke’s Daniel Jones, who was selected at No. 6 in the first round.
While time will tell when it comes to determining whether Jones was the right choice for the Giants since many expected them to strongly consider Dwayne Haskins out of Ohio State, all that matters now is New York focusing on helping their new beloved quarterback develop.
At the moment, the Giants seem willing to allow Manning to continue playing quarterback for as long as he like after everything the veteran has done for the organization, but also this doesn’t necessarily guarantee this will stick.
If anything, Manning faces all sorts of pressure heading into his 16th NFL season knowing that Jones will be waiting on the sidelines if things go south. But if the Giants were smart, they would strongly consider throwing Jones in right away as the starter during his rookie campaign over Manning.
This may sound crazy to even consider since New York believes that Manning will put the team in the best position possible to compete in the NFC East.
However, the Giants rolling with Jones isn’t exactly the craziest idea in the world, and here are three reasons to support the rookie starting over Manning in 2019.
