Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Daylon Mack. DT. Texas A&M. 113. player. 26

If this was about the flashiest pick, that would go to the player the Baltimore Ravens took at No. 25 overall. After finding their quarterback of the future in the 2018 NFL Draft, the Ravens were set on finding a game-changer on offense to pair with him.

That’s exactly what they did in the first round, as they took Marquise Brown out of Oklahoma. Brown was a big play waiting to happen for the Sooners and opens up the entire Baltimore offense.

Another couple splashy picks came in the third and fourth rounds, as they got a wideout to pair with Brown in Miles Boykin out of Notre Dame. These two could become the long-term starters for Jackson to throw the ball to.

In the fourth, Justice Hill was added. He’s going to be the lightning in the backfield of a team with Gus Edwards and Mark Ingram. Suddenly, the Ravens’ running back room is very crowded and very talented.

As good as all those picks were, the real steal came with their second-to-last pick. At No. 160 overall, the Ravens picked up Texas A&M nose tackle Daylon Mack. The 336-pound Mack is a monster in the middle of the line and will occupy blockers with his incredible strength. He’s not just a big body either.

Mack has been able to make plays in the backfield, recording 10 tackles for a loss and five sacks in his senior season. Many teams undervalue the nose position, especially in a pass-happy NFL.

However, the Ravens understand how important it is to set the tone on early downs. Mack will help them do exactly that. Great value here in what was a pretty good overall draft for Baltimore.
