Overall, the Buffalo Bills had a fantastic draft. They landed two big playmakers on both sides of the ball with their first and second picks, then adding some solid value skill positions after that.

The most interesting has to be Dawson Knox out of Ole Miss. There are a lot of questions about him. He hardly saw the ball come his way with the Rebels, but his upside is through the roof.

The Bills also got a starter on the offensive line with the No. 38 overall selection in Oklahoma’s Cody Ford. He was a borderline first-round pick and the Bills were able to get him shortly after the second round began.

However, their biggest steal came on Thursday night when they picked up Ed Oliver out if Houston. For much of the season, Oliver was considered the favorite to be the No. 1 overall pick.

That changed when he was surpassed on many boards by fellow defensive tackle Quinnen Williams out of Alabama. That wasn’t any fault of Oliver’s though, but was instead just an indication of how much Williams ascended.

In the end, the Bills remained patient and landed a guy who had top-3 talent in the draft and they didn’t have to move at all from their No. 9 spot.

Oliver also fits a dire need for them. Buffalo features a really good defense, but the Bills need that lineman that can destroy opposing offensive lines. That’s what the big guy from Houston does on the regular, making this a perfect match for him and the team.
