3 reasons Redskins should start Dwayne Haskins over Case Keenum in 2019

Here are three reasons why the Washington Redskins should start Dwayne Haskins over Case Keenum as their starter during the 2019 season.
Despite acquiring Case Keenum in a trade with the Denver Broncos this offseason, the Washington Redskins were one of numerous teams expected to consider a quarterback in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft.
Turns out, the Redskins received one of the best gifts of all during the first round when a few other teams in need of help at the quarterback position decided to pass on Ohio State’s Dwayne Haskins, allowing Washington to land him with the No. 15 pick.
Why was this considered such a gift for the Redskins? Well, for starters, there were plenty of football fans who belied that Washington’s only chance of landing Haskins would have to come from trading up.
Other than Kyler Murray, Haskins could make a strong case for himself as the second-best quarterback from this year’s draft class, and one can only imagine the kind of motivation the rookie will be playing with moving forward as a result of the other teams passing on him.
Of course, they do say that everything happens for a reason, and Haskins seems just as excited about this new opportunity to play for Washington as the Redskins are to hopefully have him as their next franchise quarterback.
Some quarterbacks in the position Haskins finds himself in behind a veteran will end up spending their first year learning from the sidelines. But if the Redskins were smart, they would start Haskins right away as a rookie instead of going with Keenum, and here are three reasons to support it.
