Wide Receiver (6)

Amari Cooper, Michael Gallup, Randall Cobb, Allen Hurns, Tavon Austin, Noah Brown

The Cowboys go six deep here, for now. That could change if someone like Allen Hurns doesn’t stand out in camp. That’s because he’s making $6 million a year to be the No. 4 receiver right now. Still, for now, he looks like part of the team and could be playing in a rotation with Michael Gallup.

Speaking of Gallup, he showed promise as a third-round rookie but they can’t keep forcing him the ball. Dallas needs to learn to let his progression happen naturally and allow experienced players like Amari Cooper to be the leader. Cooper, who remains the No. 1 target, is about to get a massive deal. He was acquired in a midseason trade from the Oakland Raiders and proved to be well worth the price paid.

After losing Cole Beasley in free agency, Randall Cobb takes his place as the primary slot receiver. As much as fans loved Beasley, this is an upgrade and Cobb can work on the outside more than Beasley and is also better after the catch. The caveat is his health, but that wasn’t a huge issue before last season.

Tavon Austin is next, but his job will be more of a punt returner who makes the occasional appearance on offense. Noah Brown is there for his blocking and serves as a de facto H-back.
