Defensive Line (10)

DeMarcus Lawrence, Trysten Hill, Antwuan Woods, Robert Quinn, Tyrone Crawford, Joe Jackson, Dorrance Armstrong, Maliek Collins, Daniel Wise, Christian Covington

The Cowboys go 10 deep at defensive line, with DeMarcus Lawrence being the leader of the group. He will be joined by two new starters in Robert Quinn and Trysten Hill. Quinn was their biggest veteran offseason addition as they added the star pass rusher from Miami. Hill was their first draft pick and has plenty to like about his game.

He will have to beat out Maliek Collins but his draft status helps him out as Dallas wants him on the field early to start developing. Antwuan Woods was a breakout player last season and earned the starting spot at the nose.

Tyrone Crawford will be the top rotational player and can fill in anywhere on the line. He’s been a defensive end as well as an interior pass rusher in his career and will keep providing a versatile weapon for Rod Marinelli.

Rookie Joe Jackson and 2018 fourth-round pick Dorrance Armstrong make the team as backup defensive ends and Christian Covington is the primary backup to Woods. Daniel Wise and Kerry Hyder will be fighting for the last spot and Wise wins since he offers a little more size than Hyder who is more of an end than tackle.

Dallas tries to sneak rookie Jalen Jelks to the practice squad and things could change if Randy Gregory’s suspension is lifted. The most notable on this list is the exclusion of Taco Charlton. He’s likely in need of a fresh start and still could be dealt for a future mid-round pick.
