1. John Cominsky

One of the most interesting prospects the Atlanta Falcons selected in April’s draft was John Cominsky, a defensive lineman from the University of Charleston. While no Atlanta football fan jumped for joy when Cominsky’s named scrolled across the screen, their tune could change big time by the end of 2019. He’s definitely unproven, but has an incredibly high ceiling.

Quinn has gone on record stating that he could see Cominsky finding a role on the interior of the team’s defensive line, which should be music to the ears of everyone in Flowery Branch. Outside of the return of Deadrin Senat and Grady Jarrett, the Dirty Birds didn’t do too much to help bolster their line D-line for 2019.

In what seems to be a very crucial year for Dan Quinn, that definitely seems like a pretty risky move. That said, the Falcons head coach seemed to do his homework, and then some, on Cominsky. If he does turn out to be a solid contributor for Atlanta, we know where credit is due.

Could Cominsky be the man to help Jarrett fortify the Falcons interior defensive line, or will he stay at defensive end? The jury is obviously still out. However, if there’s one thing we know for sure, it’s that the former Division II standout is going to play a lot in 2019, for better or worse.
