3. Devonta Freeman, RB

Injuries kept Devonta Freeman off the football field in 2018, and it made a huge impact on the Falcons season. Not only did Freeman’s absence create a plethora of running game problems for the Falcons, but it also changed their identity. Atlanta lost their offensive swagger, ultimately going 7-9 and missing the playoffs for the first time in three seasons.

What I love most about Freeman is his toughness. This guy epitomizes what it means to fight through contact and never give up. Again, something that Atlanta missed dearly in their lost 2018 season.

While Freeman was hurt for most of 2018, he decided to better himself in an awesome way off the field: acting. Did you know the former Florida State superstar and NCAA National Champion has his own IMDB page now? If that’s not awesome, I don’t know what is.

Since joining the Falcons in 2014, he’s become a star of the team. He took over for a hurt Tevin Coleman and never looked back. Here’s to hoping he’ll be carrying the football for the Dirty Birds for a long, long time.
