1. Aaron Rodgers

Was there any doubt Aaron Rodgers would be No. 1 on this list? The Packers’ franchise quarterback isn’t just the team’s best player, but has an argument as the best quarterback in the entire NFL. Even after two lackluster seasons in 2017 and 2018, Rodgers is still the league’s most versatile passer.

Rodgers posted a stat line of just 25 passing touchdowns and two interceptions for 4,442 passing yards in 2018. Although those types of numbers may be a strong season for many of the league’s quarterbacks, last season could be considered one of the worst of Rodgers’ career. His 62.3 completion rate was his second-lowest since taking over as the starter in 2008. His 97.6 passer rating was the fourth-lowest mark of his career. Simply put, Rodgers just wasn’t himself last year.

All of that said, Rodgers is still the team’s best player, and it really isn’t close. He holds the NFL’s all-time record for highest passer rating at 103.1. His touchdown-to-interception ratio of 4.23 is also the best mark in NFL history. He has a combined record of 100-57-1 with 42,944 passing yards over his career.

But even after all that, we expect more from Aaron Rodgers. Injuries have killed his momentum the past two years, and a stale offense with former head coach Mike McCarthy caused other problems, too. A new offensive scheme should see plenty of good change in 2019, and expectations for Rodgers will be no different than in the past.
