9. Bryan Bulaga
Although oft-injured, right tackle Bryan Bulaga is an elite pass protector when on the field. The eight-year veteran has only played in 16 games twice in his career, just turned 30 years old in March and is entering the last year of his current deal with the Packers, so it seems likely 2019 will be his final year in Green Bay.
The Packers can still utilize Bulaga while he’s on the team, though. There have been rumors he may be a post-June 1 release candidate, but those rumors can safely be put to rest. After all, it just doesn’t make sense to downgrade at a position that already has thin depth, especially when the player being cut is a top 10 talent at his position.
Bulaga has never been named to a Pro Bowl or All-Pro team, but his absence is blatantly obvious whenever he’s not on the field. According to Pro Football Focus (subscription required), Bulaga was the 20th ranked offensive tackle last year, finishing with a cumulative grade of 75.0. Bulaga played in 13 games in 2018, totaling 781 snaps.
Perhaps the most impressive stat from PFF is the fact that Bulaga has gone 136 straight pass blocks without allowing a pressure, which is the longest active streak for all offensive linemen (excluding centers). Simply put, the Packers offense is better when he’s on the field.
