6. Mike Daniels

Although he had a down season in 2018, defensive tackle Mike Daniels is still easily one of the 10 best players currently on the Packers. One of the hardest interior defensive lineman to block in the NFL, Daniels is known for his aggressive nature and toughness. He’s also one of the unquestioned leaders on Green Bay’s defense.

Drafted in the fourth round in 2012, Daniels was another mid-round gem that former general manager Ted Thompson became so adept at digging up. Over his career, Daniels has racked up 158 tackles, 47 tackles for losses, 29 sacks and 68 quarterback hits across 102 games. His only Pro Bowl came in 2017, but he easily could have been a Pro Bowler the previous two seasons. Although he’s never had illustrious sack numbers, Daniels is one of the best overall disruptors in the NFL, especially when it comes to stopping the run.

Entering this coming season, Daniels will look to prove why the Packers should re-sign him in 2020. He’s entering the last year of his current deal and turned 30 years old at the beginning of May. It seems 2019 could be his final year in Green Bay, especially given the Packers’ current depth along the defensive line and his age. If Daniels’ career in Titletown does indeed come to a halt after this season, his career will be remembered as one of the more underrated in team history.
