2020 NFL Draft: Roberts’ too-early mock draft for next year

15. Green Bay Packers: CeeDee Lamb, WR, Oklahoma

Aside from wide receiver Davante Adams, the Green Bay Packers have nothing but question marks making up their wide receiver corps. They are willing to roll with the inexperienced group to see what they might have but the odds of finding great value are not well in their favor.

Combine that with seeing Oklahoma wide receiver CeeDee Lamb falling to No. 15, it was just too much to pass up on. Lamb was slightly overshadowed by the big-play potential of now Baltimore Ravens wideout Marquise “Hollywood” Brown over the last couple seasons.

However, Lamb possesses the traits necessary to become a far superior prospect than Brown. A fantastic route runner and technician, Lamb boasts some of the best hands in all of college football. Look for him to take an even further step during the 2019 season, developing into one of the premier prospects in the 2020 NFL Draft.

16. Minnesota Vikings: Derrick Brown, DT, Auburn

If Derrick Brown had declared for the 2019 NFL Draft, he more than likely would have heard his name called relatively early on the first day. With another year of growth and development, it is an even safer bet that will be the case in 2020.

At 6-5 and 318 pounds, Brown possesses the length and upper body strength to present himself as an immediate upgrade for a team as a run defender. What cannot be lost in Brown’s game is the movement skills he possesses for a man of that size, showing the ability to push the pocket from several alignments.

The defensive tackle spot opposite of Linval Joseph for the Minnesota Vikings is one that could stand for a potential upgrade. Brown would be a quick upgrade for a team who has established one of the better front sevens over the last few seasons.
