17. San Francisco 49ers: A.J. Terrell, DB, Clemson

The 49ers pass defense was terrible last season. They added Dee Ford and Nick Bosa to their pass-rushing unit that already included former first-round selections Arik Armstead, Solomon Thomas and DeForrest Buckner. It is time to add to an underwhelming cornerback room, where there aren’t many proven commodities outside of the 31-year old Richard Sherman who failed to record an interception last season.

Clemson’s A.J. Terrell is coming off a tremendous sophomore season and has now set himself up for what could be an early entrance into the NFL after his junior year. At 6-2 and 200 pounds, Terrell possesses the length and long speed to develop into a potential lockdown corner at the next level.

18. Houston Texans: D’Andre Swift, RB, Georgia

Like it or not, the Houston Texans just invested a ton of draft capital in Alabama State’s Tytus Howard and Northern Illinois’ Max Scharping to help bolster their offensive line. These early two early-round selections may prevent them from taking another offensive linemen early in the 2020 NFL Draft. This could be a sneaky spot for another wide receiver, but there is some hope that Will Fuller can finally put together a full, healthy season.

The plan is to help Deshaun Watson by bolstering the running game, with some big-time ability to catch the football out of the backfield. Georgia running back D’Andre Swift is an offensive weapon that presents challenges to defenses in a variety of areas. With the ability to run both power and zone-based running schemes, the 5-9, 215-pounder is also an asset both as a dynamic pass receiver and in the screen game.
