2. De’Vondre Campbell, LB

The Falcons defense experienced some serious health problems in 2018 as they were without Deion Jones, Ricardo Allen and Keanu Neal for most of the year. Thanks to these extremely unfortunate injuries, Atlanta’s defense struggled to slow down even the worst of offenses. Thankfully for the Falcons, De’Vondre Campbell quietly kept the Dirty Birds defense from hitting rock bottom.

In case you didn’t know, Campbell led the Falcons with a total of 94 tackles and played in all 16 games, something only three Atlanta linebackers did in 2018. He was not only productive, but Campbell also stayed healthy and was consistent.

Quite honestly, Campbell had to step up last season and become a leader among the linebackers on the field. It may not have paid big dividends in 2018, but it sure will in 2019 — especially when Deion Jones in back in the fold.

Not many football fans will recognize Campbell’s name, but that’s okay — they will after 2019. We’ve just seen the beginning of the dominant outside linebacker this guy can become.
