Houston Texans

The Houston Texans won the AFC South with a record of 11-5, but they lost in the Wild Card Round to a divisional rival in the Indianapolis Colts. Throughout the season, their biggest issue was their inability to protect quarterback Deshaun Watson and they aimed to fix that in the offseason.

However, their moves to do so are questionable at best. They signed Matt Kalil after a rough season in Carolina. They then added Tytus Howard in the first round, but that felt like quite a reach for the Alabama State product. In fact, their best addition on the line could arguably be Mac Scharping, their second-round pick out of Northern Illinois.

On top of their reach, the Texans have struggled to figure out what’s going on with Jadeveon Clowney. They franchise tagged their pass rushing specialist but have yet to come to terms on a long-term deal with him. There’s been plenty of talk he could be moved still, but they’re past the point of being able to get anything substantial to help this season.

Houston didn’t do a lot to get better and they need to hope that D’Onta Foreman is healthy because Lamar Miller hasn’t been the answer at running back.
