Los Angeles Rams
After losing in the Super Bowl, the Los Angeles Rams entered the draft with the 31st overall selection, which they ended up trading on draft night. This landed them two picks on day two from the Atlanta Falcons, which made up for them not having a second-round pick. With the first of what ended up being three picks on Friday night, they landed Taylor Rapp out of Washington. From there, they ended up going after a running back in Darrell Henderson from Memphis — which could prove some concern exists over Todd Gurley’s knee.
Later it was David Long, a corner from Michigan, and Bobby Evans, a tackle from Oklahoma. Evans could be a future starter on their line, but so too could David Edwards who they landed in the fifth round out of Wisconsin. They said they wanted to get some youth to develop there, which they did.
In free agency, the Rams added Eric Weddle which should help their secondary immensely. Another interesting addition was Clay Matthews, but the question is what he has left in the tank. Their biggest gamble was giving $14 million to Dante Fowler, who has yet to prove he can be a consistent edge rusher. Overall, they did well and will still enter the season as favorites in their division.
