Philadelphia Eagles
Whether or not this season is successful for the Philadelphia Eagles won’t come down to any move they made in the offseason. Instead, it’s all about whether or not they should have made a move.
Carson Wentz was the No. 2 overall pick but spent the past two seasons injured. While on the sideline, he watched Nick Foles win the first Super Bowl in team history and then last season he brought them back from the dead to make the playoffs — and win a game. Foles wasn’t retained and instead went to the Jaguars. Wentz stayed in Philly, but they’re still not sure he will be healthy.
Thankfully, they got him some help. Andre Dillard was a first-round pick and will be a great addition at offensive tackle. Miles Sanders was a good second-round selection, but it seemed odd considering they did just trade for Jordan Howard — who should be a franchise back for them.
Adding DeSean Jackson back was a nostalgia move but could end up helping some as he still had plenty in the tank last season. But again, it all comes down to Wentz because behind him is a lot of unknowns now with Foles gone.
