Carolina Panthers

It was a quiet offseason for the Carolina Panthers with the most intrigue coming when the team discussed the health of quarterback Cam Newton who struggled with shoulder problems last season. They did land a new center in Matt Paradis from Denver while also getting Greg Little from Ole Miss in Round 2.

With them joining Taylor Moton, Trai Turner and Daryl Williams on the line looks much better heading into the 2019 season. Little was considered one of the top left tackle prospects at one point but was hurt by some poor workouts. He should still have a solid career as he did plenty on tape to prove he can play.

The selection before Little was even better as Carolina picked up Brian Burns from Florida State in the first. He joins Bruce Irvin as they appear to have two solid edge rushers, with mid-round pick Christian Miller from Alabama developing behind them as well.

Carolina also tried to protect themselves should Newton’s injury problems continue. With the 100th overall pick, they landed West Virginia’s Will Grier. He played in a pretty rough offensive system with the Mountaineers but still managed to put up some impressive numbers. He should provide them a quality backup. If there’s anything that will hinder them this season though, it will be their lack of depth at receiver.
