Cleveland Browns

This was an eventful offseason for the Cleveland Browns. After improving from 0-16 to 7-8-1, they went out and landed even more talent around Baker Mayfield.

General manager John Dorsey pulled off a trade for wide receiver Odell Beckham who will join forces with his former LSU teammate Jarvis Landry, giving the Browns one of the best receiver corps in the NFL. They also added Kareem Hunt, which was a controversial move due to his suspension for a domestic violence incident but on the field, he does make them better.

While Cleveland did land those two offensive stars, the real focus this offseason was on their defense. Their big free agent signing was defensive tackle Sheldon Richardson and they also traded for Olivier Vernon as an edge rusher opposite Myles Garrett. Then in the draft, they went heavy on that side of the line again.

The Browns drafted Greedy Williams and Sione Takitaki on Day 2 and also added Mack Wilson and Sheldrick Redwine during the final day of the draft. The one issue with their draft was reaching for a kicker, but that did at least fill a need as they clearly weren’t comfortable there with Greg Joseph.

Cleveland is now a legitimate contender in the AFC North, which is a stark contrast to where they were when Dorsey took over at the end of 2017.
