The Chicago Bears had a good year in 2018, but they’ll be looking to build on that in the 2019 season. These guys will be a major key to that build.

The Chicago Bears had a great season in the first year under head coach Matt Nagy. They’ll be looking to build on that success in Nagy’s second season at the helm, the 2019 campaign. It’s going to be interesting to see how they continue their development though.

Teams now have a full year of film on them to figure out how to slow them down, and, if key players don’t take the next step in their development, the team will stagnate or take a step backward. That can’t happen.

A list of players to take the next step will come later. Today is all about the guys that can surprise you during the 2019 season. They should be improving players, but they aren’t the ones that you automatically think of when you are trying to predict major developments. Quarterback Mitchell Trubisky should take a step forward and some of the young defensive players will develop as well. We’re here just to focus on a few specific guys.

The Bears are playing in a division with three other teams that improved this offseason, and they’ll have to raise their level to keep their hold on the division. The NFC should be a dogfight this year, and every win counts. One slip up could leave you at 10-6 and sitting out of the playoffs.

If these guys raise their game though, that won’t be happening.
