Offensive Line

Starters: Kolton Miller (LT), Denzelle Good (LG), Rodney Hudson (C), Gabe Jackson (RG), Trent Brown (RT)
Reserves: Brandon Parker, David Sharpe, Lester Cotton Sr., Chaz Green (9)
Surprises: Lester Cotton Sr.

When it’s all said and done, the Raiders may sign offensive guard Richie Incognito, but they’re waiting on word of a potential suspension for the 35-year old, per Tafur:

"The hangup is that general manager Mike Mayock and coach Jon Gruden would like to hear from the league regarding what its suspension plans are in the wake of Incognito’s latest off-field incident."

Incognito pled guilty to a disorderly conduct charge in Scottsdale, Arizona—a misdemeanor last August. If the league comes down heavily on him, Gruden and Mayock may look elsewhere for talent at offensive guard.

The team signed Cotton as an undrafted rookie out of Alabama. He’s a 6-3, 324-pound mauler, who uses brute force to open gaps on the interior. Once the massive guard gains leverage, defenders will have a tough time shedding the block for a tackle. Keep an eye on him as direct competition for Good at left guard.

Notable Omissions: Denver Kirkland

Kirkland lists under a notable omission because of his experience with the club. The Raiders signed him as an undrafted free agent out of Arkansas in 2016.

During his rookie year, Kirkland played a role in former offensive coordinator Bill Musgrave‘s max-protect scheme — occasionally as the sixth offensive lineman on the field. The design kept Carr upright with enough time to pick apart defenses. It’s no surprise that was his best season — 28 touchdowns and six interceptions to go along with seven game-winning drives.

The Raiders opted to re-sign Green, who’s a former third-round pick, which suggests offensive line coach Tom Cable likes his upside. Kirkland flashed under Musgrave three years ago, but he’s done very little since that term.
