Miami Dolphins: 4-12

Without question, the Miami Dolphins scored big this offseason by hiring Brian Flores as their head coach. When looking at what he was able to accomplish last season by helping the New England Patriots win the Super Bowl, this move should work wonders.

But when it comes to the 2019 season, Flores could be in for a rough outing. The Dolphins are already an early candidate to go through tanking mode when looking at the talent they have to work with.

In the long run, Miami hopes to see things work out for the best in Josh Rosen after the former first-round pick watched the Arizona Cardinals move on from him after only one season to go with Kyler Murray instead.

Some will make the case that Rosen was in an unfair situation. Arizona didn’t exactly put him in the best position to succeed as a rookie, but all the Dolphins really care about is whether he’s capable of being the potential franchise quarterback they’ve been looking for.

Of course, there’s no guarantee that Rosen will start in 2019 since Miami did sign Ryan Fitzpatrick in the offseason as the short-term answer. The Dolphins could very well decide to go with the veteran over the youngster.

Either way, as bad as it sounds to say, it really doesn’t matter who the Dolphins end up going with under center next season. It’s still going to be difficult to win games.

Playing in the AFC East with the defending champions in the New England Patriots was already tough enough for Miami. The fact that each game in September is against playoff teams from last season shows how rough 2019 could get real fast.
