Philadelphia Eagles: 11-5

Did the Philadelphia Eagles make the right decision in letting Nick Foles walk in free agency?

As difficult as it may seem for some fans, the decision to stick with Carson Wentz was the right one since in the long run, this was the best move for the organization.

Some football fans forget that Wentz was considered a strong NFL MVP candidate during the 2017 season before going down with the gruesome knee injury. While there are still some concerns over his health, a full offseason to recover should help.

Unlike this time last year, Wentz isn’t feeling the extra pressure of trying to rush back to full strength in order to be ready for Week 1. He should benefit from being able to participate in full once training camp officially arrives.

Before the official start of the offseason, Philadelphia was already considered an early favorite to make another playoff run in the NFC, but this team continues to find ways to add new talent to put them in an even better position.

From bringing back DeSean Jackson, to having a successful draft that saw key rookies in Andre Dillard and Miles Sanders coming on board, the Eagles seem to be stacked on paper with their minds set on earning a third trip in a row to the playoffs.

Philadelphia’s defense will obviously have their hands full playing in a tough NFC East, but there’s no question that Wentz is going to end up being the difference maker when it comes to this team’s chances of reaching the postseason.
