Each NFL team’s record prediction for the 2019 season
By Dan Parzych
Tennessee Titans: 10-6
One win during Week 17 is all the Tennessee Titans needed to earn a Wild Card spot in the AFC. Unfortunately, a loss to the Indianapolis Colts resulted in the team watching the playoffs from home.
Still, as frustrating as this for the Titans to deal with at the time, all signs point to this team continuing to be a contender in the AFC, thanks to another successful offseason. However, whether that happens or not will come down to the health status of Marcus Mariota.
To say Mariota has struggled to stay healthy at times over the years would be a huge understatement. His availability issues seem to be part of the reason behind Tennessee acquiring Ryan Tannehill from the Miami Dolphins this offseason as insurance.
When healthy and on top of his game, Mariota has proven that he can be a major difference maker on offense for the Titans. This is why it’s been so frustrating at times with the numerous injuries he’s been forced to deal with.
While facing the teams from the NFC South along with their division battles was already going to be tough, the biggest test of all for Tennessee could come down to the meetings against the AFC West.
With teams like the Kansas City Chiefs and the Los Angeles Chargers potentially standing in their way during the playoffs, these will be good tests for the Titans to see how they compare.
If they can mange to pull off a few key wins against some of the top contenders, playoffs for the second time in three seasons could be in the works for Tennessee.
