3. New York Jets sign Le’Veon Bell

If this were a list of the worst moves in the offseason, the New York Jets would be up near the top — with two moves, as well as a potential third. The first move that was a disaster was hiring Adam Gase as their head coach. New York had an up-close view of the way Gase destroyed the morale with their AFC East rival in the Miami Dolphins, but still brought him in.

Gase brought the same dysfunction to New York with him, as he already had a war with general manager Mike Maccagnan. Gase was adamant there was no issue, but clearly, there was a power struggle which he won, as Maccagnan was fired and Gase is the acting general manager now. That was bad move No. 2 for the Jets.

The third would come if they were to trade running back Le’Veon Bell, who has yet to even play a down for the club. The Jets added Bell in the offseason, which was a wise move. Yes, they overpaid for him, but that’s the norm in free agency. However, it’s hard to see a scenario where Bell doesn’t help the team.

He’s a fantastic running back who is also a nightmare to try to stop in the passing game. His ability to take over on offense will help second-year quarterback Sam Darnold as he continues to develop as a leader of their offense.

Even so, new reports suggest that Gase wasn’t keen on the signing of Bell and we all know how much he loves to ship off good players.
