Hall of Fame chances for the 20 best NFL quarterbacks entering 2019

Derek Carr
- Oakland Raiders (2014-present)
The Oakland Raiders made Derek Carr the No. 36 overall selection in the 2014 NFL Draft. Since then, he has become one of the more prolific passers in team history. A starter from day one in the NFL, Carr has had his fair share of ups and downs wearing the Silver and Black, but could be headed towards his best seasons as a pro.
Still only 28 years old, Carr is entering the 2019 NFL season in rare territory for him, as he will finally be in the same offense for a second straight season. The last time that happened, Carr led the Raiders to an 11-4 record, and looked to be headed towards an NFL Most Valuable Player award, before breaking his leg against the Indianapolis Colts on Christmas Day 2016.
The break ended the Raiders’ season for the most part, as they were bounced in the AFC Wild Card round with Connor Cook under center. They have not been right since. Carr has been through a bunch of head coaches and coordinators, but is still rocketing up the Raiders’ record book entering year No. 6 out of Fresno State.
To date, Carr is the franchise’s all-time leader in completions, and is only 339 yards away from tying Pro Football Hall of Famer Ken Stabler for the franchise lead in passing yards. In addition, his 122 touchdown passes ranks second to “Snake”. Carr is coming off his first 4,000-yard season of his career.
