2. Freeman stays healthy
Without question, the argument can be made that Atlanta’s season would have been much different in 2018 if Devonta Freeman wasn’t limited to playing in just two games due to knee and foot injuries.
Over the last couple of years, Freeman has proven to be one of the most effective running backs when healthy, and he played a key role in the success behind the Falcons offense during those two years prior to 2018 when they were playoff contenders.
Assuming there are no setbacks, there’s every reason to believe that Freeman will return to his old ways on offense for Atlanta, although it will be interesting to see how the running back adjusts to Tevin Coleman (San Francisco 49ers) no longer being part of the picture.
Knowing Freeman and his workhorse mentality, the Falcons star will be just fine, and his presence alone will help take a ton of pressure off Ryan under center since he was clearly missed last season.
As long as Freeman stays healthy, Atlanta’s offense should be in tip-top shape for 2019 to put them in a better position to compete in both the division and conference.
Returning from an injury-plagued season is never easy, but Freeman seems determined to pull it off to help the Falcons.
