A dark horse to make the team: Jalen Guyton

Originally a member of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Jalen Guyton transferred to North Texas where he was able to get more playing time. In two seasons, he had 103 receptions for 1,580 yards and 15 touchdowns.

Guyton is well-liked and considered by some, such as Newy Scruggs of NBC 5 in Dallas, as a legit threat to sneak onto the 53-man roster. That seems like a long shot at this point, but then again if players such as Allen Hurns fail to make the team, the dominos could fall into his favor. How he does in camp and the preseason will be huge but we have seen other players overcome larger odds.

Looking to make a leap: Cedrick Wilson

2018 sixth-round pick Cedrick Wilson was an intriguing pick last season. Dallas again went to Boise State to land him, which has become their pipeline school. Wilson was a deep threat who had an average of 19 yards per catch in his career there.

Unfortunately, he tore his labrum in training camp and never got to fight for a roster spot. Heading into 2019, he’s a name to watch as he fights for a chance to make this roster. Coaches praise his intelligence and the offense can surely use a player capable of making plays down the field as he can.
