Jacksonville Jaguars: 3 Reasons Terrelle Pryor is worth the risk
By Dan Parzych
1. Pryor’s impressive 2016 campaign
One of the main reasons behind the decision by the Redskins to sign Pryor when they did in 2017 was due to his impressive campaign the year before as a member of the Cleveland Browns.
Yes, the argument can be made that Cleveland was one of the biggest laughing stocks across the NFL, and didn’t really have many options to work with on offense, which Pryor clearly took advantage of to emerge as the top wideout in 2016.
However, nothing can take away the fact that Pryor did catch 77 passes that year for 1,007 yards and four touchdowns.
Looking back, it was easy to understand some concerns by other teams not wanting to sign Pryor long-term since this was only one season, and the previous two years make it seem like they made the right decision.
But in defense of Pryor, if the wideout was able to put these kind of numbers up in 2016 on a team like the Browns, there’s every reason to believe he could pull it off as a member of the Jaguars with Foles under center.
Thanks to his size and strength, Pryor could end up with an extra advantage over other Jacksonville receivers in regards to more passes thrown in his direction, and if it were to help the Jaguars return to the playoffs, well this would make it all worth it even more.
