2. Cam Newton sees no setbacks with shoulder

Nobody needs to explain to Carolina just how effective of a quarterback Cam Newton can be when healthy since his size and strength alone gives him a major advantage over opponents.

Unfortunately, Newton will be entering training camp with some concerns after undergoing an arthroscopic procedure this offseason on his shoulder, and while everything seems to be going well at the moment, nothing matters until he steps foot on the field.

Keep in mind it wasn’t too long ago when Newton took home MVP honors after helping the Panthers earn a trip to the Super Bowl, and since the former No. 1 pick isn’t getting any younger, the time is running out for him to help lead Carolina to hoisting the Lombardi Trophy.

Some will say that Newton faces more pressure than ever to make sure the Panthers emerge as a serious contender in the NFC once again, and they’re right on the money, believe it or not.

As much as Carolina doesn’t want to hear that Newton’s shoulder could be a major difference factor in what kind of season the Panthers will be in for, this appears to be exactly the case.

If Newton’s shoulder is still a concern come training camp, Carolina’s going to be in a difficult position but, hopefully, this won’t end up being the case.
