2. Postseason numbers by Williams
Coming up short in the AFC Championship against the New England Patriots the way they did has left the Chiefs wondering what could have been all offseason since the team was built strong enough to potentially win the Super Bowl.
But on a positive note, at least Kansas City had plenty of reasons to feel better about their situation at running back heading into the 2019 season after watching how effective Williams turned out to be in the playoffs.
Touchdown machine is probably the best way to describe Williams with the four total touchdowns in the two playoff games, but even towards the end of the regular season, the Chiefs surprise star kept finding ways to find the end zone.
By recording six touchdowns over the final four games of 2018, Kansas City felt much better about their running back situation with Williams in the picture, and it made even more sense to reward him with an extension at the end of December.
Now that Williams will be around for two more seasons on a favorable deal ($8.1 million), the Chiefs would love nothing more than to see this previous extension turn out to be an absolute steal when compared to his potential production in 2019.
