Linebacker: Bobby Wagner, Seattle Seahawks

This one is pretty simple: Bobby Wagner is one of the very best inside linebackers in the game, and he knows it. With that being true, he wants to be paid accordingly. So much so that he’s even made this stance clear to the media.

During a recent interview, Wagner was asked about his current contract situation. Citing the deal that C.J. Mosley received from the New York Jets this offseason (five years, $85 million, with $51 million guaranteed), he claimed that he’s planning on topping those figures when he finally puts his name on the dotted line.

Here’s what Wagner said, via the Seattle Times:

"“I mean, the number is the number, the market is the market… That’s the top (of the) linebacker market. That is the standard. And so that is the plan to break that.”"

The Seahawks aren’t exactly loaded with cap space, especially after handing Russell Wilson has massive new deal. However, if they’re going to continue existing in their current state of relevance, they need to bring back Wagner. If that means making him the highest-paid inside linebacker in the NFL, then so be it.
