On the Bubble:

QB Garrett Gilbert

After lighting up the Alliance of American Football, Gilbert was signed by the Browns. However, he is too old to stash on the practice squad and does not look like he will take over the backup role. He could be just a camp arm, however, the Browns had Stanton as inactive practically every week, so they could do the same this year.

RB Duke Johnson Jr.

Will Duke get traded or will he make it through camp? It is 50/50 at this point. He is in no danger of getting cut, but it is a toss-up as to whether or not the Browns will make a deal involving Johnson.

WR Damion Ratley
WR Damon Sheehy-Guiseppi
WR Jaelen Strong

Is Strong the 2019 version of Breshad Perriman?

WR Derrick Willies
TE Pharoah Brown
TE Stephen Carlson
TE Orson Charles

A locker-room favorite, Charles took over the H-back role for the Browns last year before facing a release with an injury designation. Healthy now and back on the roster, Charles looks to assume the role again.

TE Seth Devalve

A fourth-round pick of the Sashi Brown era, Devalve has had problems staying healthy and finding the field. With the signing of Harris to take over the TE2 reps, Devalve could be in the fight of his life for a roster spot.

OT Brian Fineanganofo

The Browns like the undrafted free agent Fineanganofo from Idaho. An uber-athletic tackle could make the roster with all the tools to mold into a quality starter in the future.

OT Desmond Harrison

After being named the week one starting left tackle a year ago, Harrison now looks to fight for a roster spot after the Browns signed a tackle in free agency, drafted one, and signed another as an undrafted free agent.

OG Bryan Witzmann

The journeyman offensive lineman looks like a camp body, but who knows? Injuries happen and Witzmann could find himself on the roster.

DE Chad Thomas

A third rounder from just a year ago, Thomas spent more time as a healthy scratch than he did on the field. This could be a miss that Dorsey has to admit and move on from. But hey, Majornine makes some pretty sick beats though.

DE Anthony Zettel
DT Trevon Coley
DT Carl Davis
DT Daniel Ekuale
DT Devaroe Lawrence
LB Ray-Ray Armstrong

While Armstrong may not see many reps at linebacker this year, he has been praised for his ability as a special teamer. This could be Armstrong’s ticket to a long career and a roster spot on the Browns in 2019.

LB Mack Wilson

A fifth-round pick from a month ago, Wilson has much to prove after he fell in the draft and did not exactly get a vote of confidence from his college coaches during the pre-draft process.

CB Phillip Gaines
CB Tavierre Thomas

Another player who may not see many reps on the defense, Thomas is another player who excels on special teams and can ride that role to a roster spot.

P Jamie Gillan

The Scottish Hammer has won the hearts of Cleveland and could be the starting punter if the Browns decide Colquitt’s contract is an expendable one.
