Dallas Cowboys: 15 Best players in team history
By Randy Gurzi
America’s Team has a history like no other NFL team. Here we look back over their existence and select the 15 best Dallas Cowboys of all time.
2019 is going to be a big season for the Dallas Cowboys. Head coach Jason Garrett enters the year without a new contract meaning this is a win or go home type of scenario for him. Understanding how important the season is, he decided to shake up his offensive staff as former play-caller Scott Linehan wasn’t getting the job done.
However, the move may have created even more uncertainty. Rather than hire an experienced assistant, Garrett went with former backup quarterback Kellen Moore as the offensive coordinator. The baby-faced Moore comes in with just one season experience on the sideline as he was the quarterback coach in 2018 after retiring before the season began.
It’s not only the coach who is playing for a long-term deal as there are also concerns about contracts for a few players. After locking up defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence, the Cowboys are turning their attention to wide receiver Amari Cooper and quarterback Dak Prescott.
After that, running back Ezekiel Elliott, linebacker Jaylon Smith, and cornerback Byron Jones could be next to start negotiations with the Big D brass. With all this attention being paid to the future of the Dallas Cowboys, we pause and take a look at the history of this storied franchise.
Here we will go back through the start of their team — back in 1970 — and select the 15 best players to ever be a part of America’s Team.
