The Indianapolis Colts have been developing their roster depth over the past few years, but these guys are still too important to lose.

The Indianapolis Colts have been developing their depth over the past couple of seasons with general manager Chris Ballard at the helm. With that increased depth, it’s allowed them to better handle injuries to starters, such as running back Marlon Mack just last season.

At the end of the day, though, a team’s starters are supposed to be the best players on the roster and, therefore, any franchise needs those guys to be in the game to give themselves the best chance to win.

In 2019, the Colts will be looking to build on their success from last season by pushing deeper into the playoffs. They’ll need Andrew Luck to stay healthy because we’ve seen how much of a step down it is from he to backup quarterback Jacoby Brissett. For the reason that it’s an extremely obvious point, Luck will not be on the list in regards to players that must stay healthy. He has to stay healthy, or the team’s 2019 hopes are shattered.

Instead, we’ll be looking at the guys that play such an important role the team would be playing a lot of question marks if they went down. They could be backed up by rookies or inconsistent veterans or no one at all. The bottom line is they need to be healthy and on the field. If that happens, a trip to the AFC Championship Game is a very real possibility.
