1. WR T.Y. Hilton

Throughout their time together, Andrew Luck and T.Y. Hilton have developed some of the best chemistry that you’ll find among a quarterback and wide receiver duo. Management has consistently worked to add a second wide receiver to take the heat off of Hilton.

The problem is, none of their options have worked out. Donte Moncrief was too inconsistent and injured during his time with Indianapolis. Andre Johnson‘s age showed sooner rather than later. None have been able to live up to the expectations.

The newest face to the party is former Carolina Panthers wide receiver Devin Funchess. Funchess has yet to put up a 1,000-yard season in his career and three of his four years have seen him finish with fewer 600 yards. Who’s to say that this year will be any different? Yes, he’ll be playing in a great offense with an elite quarterback, but he doesn’t have any particularly elite traits other than his size that work to his advantage.

Hilton has to be on the field to make this offense as dynamic as possible. His speed and shiftiness are just not replaceable by anyone. Additionally, after Funchess, the wide receiver depth chart is littered with even more young question marks with high upside but a lot of mystery around them. If Hilton misses any significant time at all, the Colts will be hoping their young guys grow up in a hurry.
