3. Goff is primed to make a leap

Entering his fourth season as the Rams starting quarterback, Jared Goff finds himself at an interesting point in his young career. With a big paycheck due any day now, his stock in the NFL continues to trend up. With a Super Bowl appearance under his belt, a loss albeit, he brings a lot to the table in LA.

The Rams will rely on Goff more in 2019. As ”load management” will be part of the Gurley playbook, Goff will need to be the other trigger that fires Los Angeles on offense. After a season where he was a dark horse midseason MVP candidate, look for McVay to rely even more on his quarterback.

McVay has shown the ability to evolve his offense. Goff has shown the ability to adapt and grow his game. 2019 could be the season where he advances to that top echelon type of quarterback the Rams hoped they were drafting in 2016.

Los Angeles will be dropping a lot of money into his bank account, and based on performance, its money that will be well spent as Goff has not shown any significant cracks in his game. His performances in Week 14 and 15 last season aside, he’s been the one constant in the Rams offense. With a running game bound to be remade, it’s Goff who will be the straw that stirs the drink — a role no longer exclusive to Gurley.
