1. Dak Prescott, Quarterback

The hiring of Kellen Moore was all about one person — Dak Prescott. The Cowboys saw how bad things were getting with Scott Linehan calling plays for the mobile quarterback and realized they needed a fresh set of eyes working with Prescott.

It’s still early, but it seems as those the move is working. During minicamps, the talk centered around Dak has been all about his deep ball. An area he’s struggled in early in his career, Prescott has turned some heads by nailing players such as Amari Cooper, Reggie Davis, and Lance Lenoir deep down the field. According to Moore, this is something they have been working on, and he says having some speedy wideouts this season has helped as well.

"“He’s simply gotten better because we’ve repped it more and he’s repped it more, most importantly, in the offseason,”  Kellen Moore said of Prescott’s deep ball via Jon Machota of Dallas News. “You get some more speed guys that have been repping it and I think we’re heading in the right direction with that.”"

Moore’s appointment had many people wondering if the young coordinator would try to utilize Prescott’s legs more. In his career, No. 4 has 944 rushing yards and 18 touchdowns in three seasons but seems to be barely scratching the surface of his potential in this regard.

While it’s still possible that Moore will get Dak running more frequently, it will only help to have him improve as a deep passer. Dallas fans should be encouraged by the fact that the reviews have been positive because it was pretty much the complete opposite at this point last season.
