Since the 2000 NFL season, which current and former members of the Dallas Cowboys should be considered the best to wear the star on their helmet?

Compared to what the franchise was able to do during the 20th century, the amount of success experienced by the Dallas Cowboys certainly has not been very high since the 2000 NFL season. After winning a total of five Super Bowls from 1971-95, the Cowboys only have three playoff victories during the 21st century. During this time, Dallas has also failed to get past the Divisional Round of the postseason.

It’s not like the Cowboys haven’t had any successful teams over the last 19 years though. Since 2000, Dallas has won five NFC East division titles and they have finished the regular season as the top seed in the NFC twice.

The playoffs just haven’t been very friendly to the Cowboys during the 21st century. But despite the team’s lack of recent postseason success, Dallas has still been home to some of the most talented players in the NFL over the last 19 years.

Currently, 20 former Cowboys have been inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. There is a good chance that number will see an increase over the next few decades with the amount of talent Dallas has had out on the field during the 21st century.

So, of all the players to suit up for the Cowboys since the 2000 season, which seven deserve to be considered among the absolute best the franchise has ever seen take the field? Let’s dive into it and take a look at the seven best.
