Jason Garrett and company are the reigning NFC East champions. What important numbers speak about the Dallas Cowboys in the 2019 season?

There’s always a lot of conversation regarding the Dallas Cowboys, be it when the team has been successful or when the franchise is having its problems. Although the organization has managed to win the NFC East three of the past five seasons, it hasn’t translated into a deep postseason run. The five-time Super Bowl champions haven’t been to the Big Game since 1995 when the “Triplets” captured the third NFL title in a four-year span.

These days, head coach Jason Garrett has plenty of talent to work with on both sides of the football. Running back Ezekiel Elliott has led the NFL in rushing two of the past three seasons. Quarterback Dak Prescott has started every game in his three-year career and has had his moments. The offensive line remains one of the best in the game. And the defense has made plenty of strides over the past few seasons.

This past season, Dallas dropped five of its first eight games and it appeared the club was headed for another disappointing year. But there would be an October trade for wide receiver Amari Cooper, late of the Oakland Raiders, and it jump-started the offense.

Garrett’s club would win seven of its final eight regular-season outings and capture a division title. There would be a Wild Card Round win over the visiting Seattle Seahawks followed by a playoff loss to the Los Angeles Rams.

But the 2019 campaign will be here soon. So what facts and figures are key to the Cowboys this fall?
