Green Bay Packers: 5 Players who impressed at OTAs, minicamp

2. WR Jake Kumerow
From being an undrafted free agent to bouncing around the league to beating the odds and making the Packers final 53-man roster in 2018, wide receiver Jake Kumerow has nearly seen it all during his time in the NFL. Now entering his second season in Green Bay, Kumerow is again stating his case for why he should be considered a strong candidate for this year’s final roster.
It always helps your chances when your franchise quarterback talks you up. After minicamp practice earlier this week, Aaron Rodgers raved about Kumerow in a big way, saying (via Packers.com):
"“The key is being reliable, and earning my trust. … [Kumerow] is an extremely intelligent guy who is in the right place at the right time. He makes contested catches, he makes the plays that are there and he does the little things.”"
Earning Rodgers’ trust may be a huge factor in whether Kumerow gets ample opportunities to show why he deserves to be on this year’s final roster in September. Unfortunately for him, however, Rodgers isn’t the one making the final personnel decisions. That said, if Kumerow truly is showing off in camp and doing the little things right, it could be hard to keep him off the final squad.
