1. WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling

There’s been no Packers player hyped up more during the offseason than second-year receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling. Coming off a fairly impressive rookie campaign in 2018, Valdes-Scantling (or MVS, as some people call him) appears to be locked in as one of Green Bay’s three starting receivers heading into training camp.

“I think this offense is really catered for a guy like him,” said fellow receiver Davante Adams, via Packers.com. “I think he’s really starting to understand how this thing works. He’s come in and he’s made some plays. And I think that with young guys, it’s hard to know exactly how to deal with that early success, but he’s doing a great job of it right now.”

Valdes-Scantling himself had a few things to say about his potential in Matt LaFleur’s offense, per Packers.com:

"“I think this is an offense built for guys like myself who can run well, run good routes. You’ve seen guys in this offense who put up a lot of great numbers. I hope I can be the next one of those guys.”"

Valdes-Scantling put up a respectable stat line of 38 receptions for 581 yards and two touchdowns in his rookie season. As the possible No. 2 receiver in Green Bay’s new offense, it wouldn’t be surprising to see MVS crack 1,000 yards in just his second year. We’ve seen many speedy receivers thrive in LaFleur’s type of offense before, most recently Brandin Cooks of the Los Angeles Rams.
