Maxx Crosby

Rookie fourth-rounder Maxx Crosby dropped explicit bars in the locker room between practices during organized team activities, and the footage went viral. When asked about his musical talent, he responded in modesty, per the San Jose Mercury NewsMatt Schneidman.

"“We just stayed out of trouble and made music instead of doing all the other crazy stuff people were doing,” Crosby said. “I don’t think I’ll be dropping any mixtapes anytime soon.”"

Looking at his collegiate tape, we know Crosby possesses the athleticism to beat offensive linemen for a sack or a tackle behind the line of scrimmage. He may also have the lyrical ability to engage in a rap battle. If the camera can pick up on an extended version of his 16 bars, viewers will instantly fall for the Eastern Michigan product.

Crosby’s mic skills could bring a worthy opponent to the forefront for some verbal sparring—that matchup may breed another on-camera star.

Through the offseason, Crosby has become a fan favorite. For starters, his nickname sounds like a player ready for stardom in the league. Secondly, he’s a potential boost at a needy position on the defensive line. If the rookie flashes at training camp, his popularity (and expectations on him) will grow exponentially.

Crosby must balance the fun and games with hard work, though. He’s a candidate to start opposite Clelin Ferrell at defensive end. The 21-year old will likely battle Arden Key and Benson Mayowa for first-team reps.
